Elder Care Counseling emphasizes caregivers’ resources, strengths, and effective coping skills to help bring a positive change. During your session, Eme Kim will work with clients to set goals for your counseling. It truly is a collaborative approach. These sessions use the unique worldviews of caregivers to bring about change. Typically, a small change is all that’s needed to resolve the problems encountered when providing elder care.

In your sessions, Eme will encourage caregivers to discuss problems and express their feelings. This has been found to relieve the frustration and stress often felt by the caregiver. Schedules are mutually agreed on, the typical caregiver meets with Eme for one hour per week. Everything said in these sessions is confidential. What is talked about during counseling is not shared except when elder abuse, suicide, or harm to others are mentioned.
